Reia is a Toi Māori–led pakihi consultancy devoted to the revitalisation and contemporary application of Māori visual language, shaping spaces, systems and strategies grounded in mātauranga Māori.
Reia stands apart through its devotion to Toi Māori as a living system of identity, knowledge and narrative. Our work goes beyond preservation — we reclaim, reassert and adorn the world with Māori visual language, ensuring it is understood, respected and meaningfully embedded within contemporary environments.
Born from a passion for whakairo rākau and the many interconnected expressions of Toi Māori, Reia is a whānau-led pakihi grounded in whakapapa and cultural authority. The name Reia derives from the kupu Whakareia — to embellish, adorn and celebrate — reflecting our commitment to embedding whakaaro, mātauranga and meaning into both physical form and collective consciousness.
